Credential assessment

Get your education recognized for your immigration, study or employment plans in Canada.

What is a credential assessment for?

An educational credential assessment (ECA) establishes the Canadian equivalent of studies completed abroad. It officially demonstrates your level of education.

Depending on your plans, it is required, for example for studies completed outside Canada under Express Entry, or strongly recommended to strengthen your application or job search.

Each organization has its own requirements: documents, translations, direct sending by your school. We check everything with you to avoid back-and-forth.

Assessments we prepare

The right organization depends on your goal and your profession.

ECA for federal immigration

For Express Entry and other programs, the assessment must come from an organization designated by IRCC. It is valid for five years.

  • World Education Services (WES)
  • International Credential Assessment Service (ICAS)
  • International Qualifications Assessment Service (IQAS)
  • Comparative Education Service (CES) and ICES

Health professions

Some professions go through a specialized organization, which also assesses professional qualifications.

  • Physicians: Medical Council of Canada
  • Pharmacists: Pharmacy Examining Board of Canada
  • Other professions: per the regulatory body

Studying and working in Quebec

In Quebec, the comparative evaluation for studies done outside Quebec positions your credentials within the Quebec education system.

  • Useful for employment and Quebec selection
  • Process with Quebec’s immigration ministry
  • Translated documents if needed

Regulated professions

To practise a regulated profession (engineer, nurse, teacher…), you also need authorization from the provincial regulatory body.

  • Identifying the right regulatory body
  • Recognition process
  • Preparing for arrival
